Sarah Teathers Lib Dem are in a shambles over the student fees FIASCO. They campaigned and made pledges that they WILL NOT increase the student fees and have now failed to keep their promise.

Nick Clegg was trying to salvage his party and his leadership by begging his fellow MP's to make sure that they all VOTE TO INCREASE the students UNI fees to OVER £9000 a year.

Nick Cleggs support amongst his fellow mp's is waning due to the dithering and confusion they have caused on the students fees, and Nick Clegg is PLEADING with his MP's to BACK HIM in a show of support for his leadership. Vince Cable, another Lib Dem MP is flipping his mind like a demented pinball machine.

The Lib Dems have a history now of changing their mind and not honouring their election pledges.

The Lib dems have agreed to support the increase of student tuition fees that will now cost each student over £9000 a year.

That means a 3 year course will now burden the student with a debt of over £27000, and once accommodation and living costs are factored in, they could be saddled with a debt of upto £40,000.

We have setup a petiton to present to the Lib Dems asking for the fees not to rise to the levels that they are proposing.

The massive increases in student fees are just the start of the attack on the people of Brent, Nearly 4000 children will lose their EMA allowance, not forgetting that the people of Brent will be impacted heavily by the loss of child benefit, the impact of the housing benefit caps and loss of other benefits, the increase of VAT to 20%, the massive rises in Rail and underground fares and not forgetting the increase of approximately 6.8% in council rents being imposed by Central government.

The measures being introduced by the Lib Dem coalition are about destroying the welfare state, the same welfare state that has been helping the most needy and vulnerable members of our society.

Nick Clegg regrets the decision to increase student fees and and yet he still will not change his mind, He has let down the thousands of first time voters who had hoped that he will keep his word, but like a true LIB Dem he has opted to keep his seat warm as deputy prime minister and not forgetting the ministerial car.
